Naked Girls Reading presents Banned Books!

Naked Girls Reading, Dallas’s sexiest literary event, hosts an evening with banned books on Friday, June 14^th, 2013 at the Quixotic World Theater on Main Street in Deep Ellum. The ladies will choose books which have been the subject of controversy and censorship throughout history. Books which challenged social decency standards about racism, politics, sexuality, and language will be uttered from the lips of a few of Dallas’s sexiest well read women. Come hear beautiful women read the books conservatives never wanted you to hear or see. Books like Lady Chatterly’s Lover, Lolita, To Kill a Mockingbird, Beloved, And Tango Makes Three are just a few of the titles that have been challenged or censored by governments, and education systems all over the world, that will be part of the Banned Books show. “Banned Books” will feature local novelist, Vanessa Vaughn as The Dirty Blonde, as well as Black Mariah, Courtney Crave, and Angi B Lovely.

Naked Girls Reading returned to Dallas after a hiatus under the new direction of producer Black Mariah. The show has repeatedly received rave reviews and has been on a book binge ever since! The brainchild of Chicago burlesque entrepreneurs Michelle L’Amour and Franky Vivid, Naked Girls Reading has quickly spread across the globe as franchises under Michelle’s direction to most major cities in the US and even some abroad.

“Naked Girls Reading is a group of beautiful ladies who love to read…naked. That’s really it. There’s not a whole lot more to it. Should there be?

I mean, sure, we also like to do it in front all of you voyeurs via photos, videos and very special live events,but you don’t have to look for something larger here – something pretentious or even seedy. Once you experience it, you’ll stop asking so many questions and just let the concept take you.

There’s something beautiful, something altogether more intimate, about a woman reading pretty much anything in her, well, altogether. It’s just that simple. So why are we still talking about it? Because people can’t seem to accept its simplicity.

Ticketing is available to guests 18 and up. Seating is VIP for the front row which includes a cast signed poster for the event for $20. General admission seating will be available for $15. Tickets are available through www.prekindle.com/events/nakedgirlsreading . Any available seats that have not been sold will be available for purchase the night of the show at the door.

Doors will open at 8PM and the show will begin at 9PM. This event is BYOB. NO photography allowed during the performances.

Dallas’s newest burlesque production, Clever Girl Cabaret, takes the stage on June 29^th, 2013, with a comic book and animation inspired burlesque showcase, “Drawn This Way”. Clever Girl Cabaret will feature some of the best burlesque tributes to Tex Avery, Wonder Woman, Bettie Page, Poison Ivy, Scooby Doo and many more!  The show will take place at the unique Quixotic World Theater on Main Street in Deep Ellum, and will feature the 2010 Queen of Burlesque, Coco Lectric (The Jigglewatts, Austin, TX). The show will also feature performances by Blaze, Black Mariah, Femme Vivre LaRouge and the 2012 Reigning Queen of Burlesque, Angi B Lovely. “Drawn This Way” will be hosted by Dallas’s own cosplay queen and Mistress of Dorkdom, Taffeta Darling. DJ Trigger Mortis will be providing dance beats to keep everyone dancing like the Peanuts gang well into the night.

Ticketing is for 18 and up and seating is VIP for the front 2 rows which include a cast signed poster for the event for $30, and General admission is first come first serve seating and tickets are $20. Tickets are available online at www.prekindle.com/events/clevergirlcabaret , as well as at the door the night of the show.  Doors will open for a red carpet entrance at 8PM, and the show will begin at 9PM. There will be funky vendors, a full cash bar, and a costume contest!
